Hooray! We have been granted funding by Kulturrådet to investigate and formulate a vision for Grafikens Hus future printmaking collection/archive. We are now looking for a person to lead us through this journey.
Grafikens Hus is an art museum in Södertälje for contemporary printmaking.
Together with artists and other experts, we want to rethink and reshape what it means to collect and keep a collection. We also want to create a vision for how a museum like Grafikens Hus can build a collection, work with handling, archiving and making it available. With our collection of prints as a meeting place for an open and honest dialogue, we want to investigate the history of the collection / archiving, and what it means to collect today. This is a three-year project, with support from the Swedish Arts Council.
We create a working expert council that guides us philosophically, theoretically and practically and engages artists through Artist in Residence. Now we need a person who can coordinate and process the work with us.
Are you a person who have experience of an investigative work from norm-critical perspective?
Has theoretical knowledge of intersectional perspectives and are able to practically implement that knowledge in physical projects, as well as being able to communicate this work internally and externaly.
Have previous experience from, for example, archiving and collections, communications and have worked with culture.
You are driven and contribute to the project with your own practice and experience, in collaboration with Grafikens Hus, our expert group and artists. Here you can use your experience of having worked co-creatively and in collective processes. To document and communicate processes publicly.
Manage Swedish and English well in both speech and writing. Södertälje is an international place, so if you speak several languages it’s a merit.
Also a merit is curatorial practice and knowledge of contemporary art.
We’d love you to apply and are curious about your experiences!
Send in your CV and half an A4 about why you are the right person for the project.
The application must be sent in before 15 August. Please send it to info@grafikenshus.se
